Who are we? – JC Domergue

I grew up in the 80s in Montpezat, a small village in the Nîmes region. Bulls and horses have always been a part of my life. It's my culture. My passion. Always has been.

In 2012, a moment of calm in my professional life allowed me to come here to Gerena to experience bullfighting. Through friendships and acquaintances, who know one who knows another, who knows another… and thanks to the agreement of Fabrice, the ranch foreman, I was able to join the staff of the Mirandilla ranch.

Under the watchful eye of Marruchi, wife of Don José Luis de Samaniego, the Marquis of Albaserrada, like a third-year intern, I took my first steps into the world of bullfighting professionals.

There, under the guidance of the herdsmen, I discovered the other side of the coin and learned the fundamentals of working with fighting cattle. My readings as a bullfighting enthusiast took shape. My childhood dreams became reality.

The 15 days initially planned turned into weeks, months, and years.

Since then I have taken over the stables at the finca and become a picador.

But more than anything, I discovered the extraordinary pleasure of accompanying you on a stroll through the heart of the most important bull ranches in Andalusia. There, in the intimacy of Seville's farmhouses, I tell you the story of the bull and the thousands of years of existence of this strange rite that is bullfighting.

“Bullfighting is not defended, it is explained.”
